The 4th “World Philanthropy Forum” opened in Shenzhen in 2019

On September 5, 2019, the 4th “World Philanthropy Forum”, co-hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Tsinghua University, the University of Hong Kong, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and co-hosted by the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, opened in Shenzhen.

Li Xiaolin, President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Co-Chairman of the Forum, presided over the keynote speech at the opening ceremony. This two-day forum, with the theme of “Bay Area Charity, Better Life”, focuses on the development of the Bay Area, focusing on areas such as talent exchange, youth innovation, health and hygiene, physical education, and the “Belt and Road” construction. Nearly 300 people from governments, enterprises, charitable organizations, higher education institutions and related United Nations agencies from 22 countries and regions in Europe, America, and Oceania participated in the conference, which set up 2 keynote speeches, 10 keynote speeches, 6 sub-theme discussions, 3 high-end round-table discussions, 1 closed-door round-table forum, 7 special reports, etc.

At the same time, the forum will release 5 joint actions including “Local Government Charity Promotion and Cooperation Plan”, “Charity Inheritance Plan”, “Shan Create Future Competition Plan”, “Social Service Leading Talent Training Plan”, and “Foundation International Friendship Cooperation Plan”. Advocated, launched the “Charity Inheritance Plan” and “Good for the Future Competition”, and continued to promote the “Social Service Leading Talents Training” and “Public Welfare Talents Training” projects released last year, providing useful reference for the world to carry out public welfare and charity activities. Philanthropy talent training and international cooperation build a multi-level and all-round platform to further contribute to the global integration of philanthropy.

With the joint efforts of the forum organizers and the participating organizations and representatives, the World Philanthropy Forum has become a grand event in the global philanthropy industry. This forum invited former Hungarian Prime Minister Peter McJesse, former Italian Prime Minister Massimo Dalema, former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, and President of the Thailand-China Friendship Association Gong Thaparansi as the forum consultants, and newly added United Nations Children’s Partners such as the Foundation, the World Region United Organization, the Silk Road Cities Alliance, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and the Guangdong Guoqiang Public Welfare Foundation.
